Happy Holidays!

Thought I’d share a couple of my favorite tools that will make your life much easier when setting up your Christmas Tree and maintaining your Christmas lights.

A laser level is very handy for home improvement projects.  Did you know it makes setting up your Christmas tree even easier? Just shine the laser vertically centered on the base of the trunk and follow the laser up to the top of the tree tip. It’s easy to see which direction to adjust the tree base by following the laser line.  Click here to view the Self Leveling Laser on Amazon.

My favorite tool and the best $20 investment I’ve ever made is the Light Keeper Pro.  I use it year round and it has saved me hundreds and hundreds of dollars in light replacements and countless hours of my time.  What do you do when your Christmas light strand goes out, do you replace it?  No, just use this cool and amazing tool.  You won’t have to unwrap your Christmas tree or pull down the lights you just spent hours hanging.

Start by looking at the bulbs in the strand that’s out.  If they all look burnt out, this won’t work, you’ll probably have to replace the strand.  But if they look normal, pull one of the bulbs out and insert the socket into the Light Keeper socket.  Now just squeeze the trigger up to 20 clicks and voilà!  Your lights are now working again.  Replace the bulb you removed and you’re done.  It also has a fuse tester, a non-contact voltage tester to find breaks in the line, and even a bulb pulling tool.  This tool won’t work 100% of the time and not for all incandescent light strands but I find it over 70% effective and well worth the price. Try another socket if the first one didn’t work.

Click here to view the Light Keeper Pro.  This one is for the small incandescent bulbs on Christmas light strands.  They make one for LED’s but I haven’t tried that one yet.  I’ll make a short video showing this tool in action once our lights are up.

I really hope this helps make your holidays even more enjoyable!  If you buy one and need help using it, I’ll be happy to lend a hand.
